Earlier today ZTE unveiled the higher variant of it’s Axon 7 smartphone – ZTE Axon 7s which came up with Snapdragon 821 chipset (up from 820). However its’ not clear the the processor is coupled with the same 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or did company made some changes in other sections.
So, how many of you are looking forward to it?
The update adds new emojis to the device, Google’s ‘gender-equal’ emojis are coming. It will also let you send gifs directly from your keyboard on supported apps, while Google’s Daydream platform also got further optimizations through this update.
ZTE pushed the Android 7.1 Nougat update for it’s Axon 7 device, the update comes with the software version ZTE_A2017V1.1.0B09 and is currently rolling out in China region. Moreover the update also bumps the MiFavor UI version to 4.1. As it’s OTA update and will take some time to reach every user.
As a quick specs recap, Axon 7 houses a QHD resolution 5.5-inch AMOLED screen, which is built in with Google’s lately announced Daydream VR in mind. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
Under the hood there are two dedicated AKM HiFi audio chipsets, Dolby Atmos software and supports DAC audio quality.
Camera section includes a 20MP rear facing snapper with build in OIS (optical image stabilization) and f/1.8 aperture with 4K (30fps) video shooting capabilities. The camera of the handset also features 240fps slow-motion.
Starting today, ZTE Axon 7 will be available for purchase in US with a price tag of $399.98 and will begin shipping to customers between August 17 and September 9. You can buy the device from Amazon, Newegg, and B&H Photo & Video, with some outlets giving customers freebies when they purchase the sub-$400 flagship device.

Starting today, ZTE begins global roll out of it Axon 7 and has just debuts in Europe, making it the first region outside of China. The device is now available for pre-orders on Amazon for France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Currently there’s no word about the when the device will hit the market, but it’s been said that it’ll be available through ZTE’s online store, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, eBay and Newegg, and will be sold with a free 2-year warranty.
