LG X4+ Officially Introduced In Korea – Packs 5.3″ Display, Hi-Fi DAC, Military-Level Durability

In the early hours of today, LG Electronics officially introduced the LG X4+ in South Korea. The device flaunts many convenient features at a budget-oriented price.

It has acquired the Military Standard (MIL-STD 810G), which is recognized by the US Department of Defense, and the so-called Military Spec. It is certified in six categories such as impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature, thermal shock, and humidity.

Along with this the device also has a dedicated digital to analog converter (DAC), which supports up to 32-bit 192 kHz, the highest level of digital music.

Lee Sang-kyu, head of Korea Mobile Group, said-

“We will continue to provide customers with opportunities to experience differentiated design and performance of LG’s premium smartphones.”

Technical Specifications

Technical specifications for this device includes a 5.3″ IPS display screen, with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The device is powered by Quad-core Snapdragon 435 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Adreno 308 graphics.

This chipset is paired with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB onboard storage which can be further expanded with the help of microSD card.

Camera section for this device includes a 13-megapixel rear sensor with LED flash, 77-degree lens, and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper, 100-degree wide-angle lens.

Android Nougat v7.0 comes pre-installed. To keep the lights of the device on the company has embedded a decent 3,000mAh battery. The rear side of the device is all aluminum with fingerprint sensor located just below the camera.

The device also comes with LG Pay, company’s cashless transaction system. Moreover, the device is MIL-STD 810G certified.

Other features of this device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and Hi-Fi DAC.

Price & Availability

As far as the pricing goes, the device comes will carry a price tag of 300,000 won (US$ 282 / Rs. 17,980 approx). And will be available through all the three major carriers in Korea later this month. The LG X4+ will be available in Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet color options.

LG Mobile Payment Service To Hit US In H1 This Year

Last year LG officially launched its mobile payment service – LG Pay to rival with Samsung, Apple, and Android who have already gained a lot of attention from people around the world. LG service is based on Wireless Magnetic Communications tech, unlike Samsung which uses Magnetic Secure Transmission technology.

Until now the cashless payment service was only available for the users in South Korea. Now as the latest report suggests LG Pay service will arrive the United States in the first half of this year making it the second country to get the service.

The service will be available in the US as LG Wallet – says LG.

The company will launch its mobile payment service with its G7 and V40 flagship phones. The former will be showcased at MWC in Barcelona next month, so there’s isn’t much time left for the LG Wallet announcement as well.

As promised, LG officially launched it’s mobile payment service LG Pay to rival with Samsung, Apple and Android who have already gain a lot of attention from people around the world. As of now the service is only available in company’s home country (South Korea) and wll only work with the newly launched flagship device the G6. The service currently supports four credit card brands, including Shinhan, KB, BC and Lotte. More players to be added sometime by the end of September.
Support will arrive in the form of software update. More device will soon be update to this service, although exact time-frame isn’t known yet.
LG Prepping To Unveil It’s Payment Service In June

Samsung, Android and Apple have already launched their payment services and are quite a hit, to rival them LG is also prepping to unveil it’s payment service soon. As per the  report suggests the South Korean company will launch it’s pay service sometime in second quarter of the year – in June to be precise.

As of now the service will only be available in company’s home country and in the beginning will only work with the newly launched flagship device the G6.


LG Pay is using a magnetic signal sent from the phone to existing credit card readers, in a very similar fashion to how Samsung Pay’s MST operates – although the technology employed is different. 
Currently we don’t know whether the payment service from LG will ever leave it’s homeland. But it came to hear that other LG devices will receive the payment functionality later on this year.
