Oppo today officially added two new members to it’s F-series phones – which is designed to cater younger crowds.
Both F17 and F17 pro are thin, fast and comes with a hefty battery pack. Talking of the later one, the units are powered by 4,000mAh cells with companies update VOOC 4.0 charging. The units comes with a 30W charger which goes from 0-100% charge faster.
The company has shared some important metrics – on the Oppo F17 Pro, a 5 minute charge gets you 2 hours of YouTube playback. Or an hour of TikTok. Or 36 minutes of PUBG gaming. If you’re patient, VOOC 4.0 can fully charge the battery in 53 minutes.
Oppo F17 Pro
The higher end variant of this newly launched F17 series smartphone houses a MediaTek Helio P95 chipset. The GPU of the chipset has been optimized for low-latency, lag-free rendering along with HDR imagery and sharp textures.
Memory section for this unit includes a 8GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage. Android 10 comes pre-installed on top of Color OS 7.2.
The front side is equipped with a 6.43″ Super AMOLED panel with 1080p+ resolution (20:9). It has a 60Hz refresh rate, which is nothing to write home about, but the phone is certified to play HD video from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
The display is guarded by Gorilla Glass 3+ and you also get the under the display Fingerprint sensor which unlocks the device in 0.3 seconds.
The front side also has the dual punch hole selfie camera sensors – a 16MP sensor (1/3”), which is assisted by a 2MP depth sensor. The rear panel as you can see in the pictures has the quad-camera setup. Primary sensor being the 48MP one(1/2” sensor, f/1.8 lens), there’s an 8MP ultrawide cam (1/4”, f/2.2), and two monochromatic 2MP sensors.
There are different AI enabled portrait modes as you can see in the depicted pictures.
The Oppo F17 Pro is now available for pre-order with actual sale to commence from September 7. The unit carries a price tag of INR 23,000.
The lower-end variant comes with the same 4,000mAh battery and 30W VOOC charging. But the company has chosen Snapdragon 662 processor for this vanilla variant.
Memory section for this device includes 4/64GB and 8/128GB options.
The display on the variant is the same 6.4″ AMOLED one with 1080p resolution. On the top there’s a single teardrop selfie sensor – 16MP. This one also has the quad camera setup on the rear side, but now the primary sensor is the 16MP 1/3.06” one with f/2.2 lens. The 8 MP ultrawide cam plus the 2MP depth sensors are still on board.
