OnePlus today in an online-only AR smartphone launch event officially put an end to all the rumors and unveiled the all new OnePlus Nord 5G. The company is 6-years old now, and even today they haven’t forgotten their mantra ‘Never Settle’. With the Nord they have proved it again.
The all-new budget-oriented smartphone from the China-based juggernaut will give the users a smooth experience, powerful cameras and exceptional quality that one expect from the company.
Please keep this thing in mind this is not the usual flagship smartphone we get to see from the OnePlus. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset – this explains our former statement.
The front display panel is covered through Gorilla Glass 5 – a 6.44” panel (1,080 x 2,400 px, 20:9) with 90Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, there’s no HDR support but you do get the sRGB and P3 display modes. For security purpose, the company has embedded under-the display Fingerprint reader.
Camera department comprises a quad-camera setup with 48MP sensor being the primary one with all the trimmings – f/1.75 aperture, OIS and EIS. We’ve already seen the same camera module on the OnePlus 8 (IMX586 sensor, 0.8 µm pixels).
Interestingly, you won’t get any dedicated zoom lens, but the sensor lets you zoom 2x using cropping.
The second module is the ultrawide one – the 8MP sensor which has an 119° lens. The third one is the 2MP macro lens and the final module is a 5MP depth sensor.
To keep the lights of the all new Nord device on, the company has embedded a decent 4,115mAh battery which supports for Warp Charge and comes with 30T charger. It will charge your battery to 70 percent in half an hour through the USB-C port.
Sadly, there’s no room for 3.5 mm audio jack but you can use the USB-C port for wired headphones instead.
There are 2 glass back finishes available to choose from – polished Blue Marble and matte Gray Onyx.
The all new OnePlus Nord is coming in two regions first – Asia and Europe.
