In the early hours of the morning today in China, nubia officially lifted the veil of the first smartphone of its new budget-oriented mid-range series dubbed as the nubia Play 5G.
The all-new smartphone flaunts a 6.65″ FHD+ AMOLED display screen with 144Hz refresh rate. This is a nice thing to see, as the company has also used the same refresh rate to the Red Magic 5G flagship smartphone.
The display of the handset features all the premium specs that you will expect from a smartphone nowadays. You will get a built-in under the display fingerprint scanner, clean cutout-free design and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
Camera section for this device includes a quad-camera setup on the rear side with a 48MP main Sony IMX582 shooter alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper aided by two 2MP modules – one for macro shots and another for depth data.
At the front you get a 12MP sensor for taking beautiful selfies.
Under the hood, there resides a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor (with 5G connectivity). The chipset is coupled with 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of onboard UFS 2.1 storage.
To keep the lights of the device on, the company has embedded a generous 5,100mAh of battery. It also supports for 30W fast wired charging.
Android 10 comes pre-installed on top of nubiaUI 8.0 skin.
As far as the pricing goes the newly launched nubia Play 5G will carry a price tag of CNY 2,400 ($340/INR 26,030) for the 6/128GB variant, the 8/128GB variant will cost CNY 2,700 ($380/INR 29,380) and the high end 8/256GB variant will set you back at CNY 3,000 ($425/INR 32,645).
The device will be available in three color variants including the Black, Blue and White. The actual sale of the handset will commence from April 24.
