Meet The New Apple MacBook Air – Retina Display, T2 Chip, Thinner Bezels And More

Apple today at a special event in Brooklyn, New York officially unveiled the highly-awaited revamped MacBook Air. As we all know this is Apple’s cheapest and best-selling laptop and after waiting for long years, the line-up has finally been updated.

MacBook Air Retina Display

The new MacBook Air 2018 is equipped with a 13.3″ 2560×1600 Retina Display and thinner bezels. In comparison to the predecessor, the bezels are now 50 percent narrower and have the modern design with glass coverage up to the edges. The top of the screen still has the FaceTime camera sensor (720p HD).

The laptop has an integrated Touch ID sensor, which is enabled by the T2 security chip. It is powered by the 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor which is coupled with 8GB/16GB of RAM and up to 1.5TB of PCIe-based SSD. It should last up to 12 hours wireless web, 13 hours iTunes movie playback and up to 30 days of standby time.

MacBook Air Keyboard

The company has gone with a new 4th Gen Butterfly Type keyboard which has 78 (US) or 79 (ISO) individual LED-backlit keys, including 12 function keys and 4 arrow keys. The trackpad is now Force Touch with more surface area and has Multi-Touch gestures.

The Audio section has also been updated, it now produces 25 percent more sound and comes with two times the bass.

The MacBook Air is known for its affordable price but in comparison to the previous gen, this new one has significantly crept up. Price of the new laptop from Apple starts at $1,199. Pre-order of the laptop has already begun with actual sales to begin from November 7.
