Android 8.1 Oreo Update Has Started Hitting The Moto G5 And G5 Plus Units In The US


Motorola has started pushing out the Android Oreo 8.1 update to the Moto G5 and G5 Plus units in the US. The update brings:

  • New multitasking features
  • More efficient notification control
  • Improved data saver
  • Battery features
  • New power menu UI
  • Bluetooth improvements

Aside from the latest operating system, the update also brings the Security Patch for the month of June with it. The update will fix all the existing bugs and will enhance the stability of both models.

The update is rolling over-the-air so it might take time to reach your unit. Those who are impatient can head over to the Setting’s menu of your device to manually check for the update.


Before downloading the update make sure your device is charged up to 50 percent and is connected to a decent internet connection.
