Earlier this year in June, Xiaomi officially lifted the veil off the next iteration of the Redmi series smartphones. Dubbed as Remi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro. The later one is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 chipset while the other two are powered by MediaTek Processors.

The first device in this budget-oriented series is the Redmi 6 which offers a substantial upgrade over its predecessor. This one has the new Helio P22 chipset and offers more storage – 3GB/32GB or 3GB/64GB.

Camera section has also been updated, as there are now instead of one, two cameras on the rear side 12MP + 5MP. So, now you can capture portrait shots as well.

The device is embedded with a 3,000mAh of the battery which as company claims will last a full day. And it comes with Android Oreo 8.1 pre-installed out of the box with MIUI 9.6.

This one is also equipped with MediaTek processor – Helio A22 chipset at a considerably lower price. Memory section for this device includes a 2GB/16GB and a 2GB/32GB variant. It sports a 5.45-inch display with the same HD+ resolution. It borrows the original Redmi 6’s display.

Camera section includes a single 13MP sensor on the rear side and a 5MP selfie sensor on the front. To keep the lights of the device on the company has embedded a 3,000 mAh of battery – same as that of Redmi 6 – and comes with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box along with MIUI 9.6.

Sadly, no fingerprint reader so one has to rely only on the face unlock.

This one has a notch which can be hidden by hitting a software switch. It sports a 5.84-inch display with 1080 x 2280 pixels resolution, tall 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch. As the name suggests, the pro versions always have the more powerful hardware. This one comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset.

Memory section for this device includes a 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants. The camera setup is the same as the one present in the standard Redmi 6 – 12MP + 5MP on the back and a 5MP sensor on the front.

This one is equipped with a huge4,000 mAh battery and as Xiaomi claims it can last two days on a single charge. The operating system is once again the Android Oreo 8.1 with MIUI 9.6.

However, Xiaomi promises that all the new trio Redmi smartphones will get the newest MIUI 10 update.

Price & Availability

As far as the pricing goes, all the three phones are priced aggressively as the other phones from the company. Both the Redmi 6 and 6A comes under the entry-level tier and will arrive on September 10 and 12 respectively. The pro version falls under mid-level tier and will arrive on September 11.
