From past few weeks, we were seeing a lot of leaks, rumors about the upcoming flagship smartphone from OnePlus. But now we got some official confirmation.
The Chinese company officially confirms that the OnePlus 6T will feature an under the display fingerprint sensor. Making it companies first ever smartphone to feature such tech. We have already seen this tech on a few Vivo phones the Vivo V11, X20 Plus UD, X21, and Nex) and the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS.
Confirming about the tech, the company officially shared the above-depicted screenshot of the upcoming smartphone. This doesn’t mean that the OnePlus will cut out the famous Face unlock feature, instead, you will have the option to choose between the two.
The screenshot also displays a date of October. Could this be a hint of the unveiling date of the 6T?
It’s also come to hear that OnePlus initially intend to bring this technology on the 5T but the “the technology wasn’t mature enough to meet [OnePlus’] standards for delivering a fast and smooth user experience”.
Addition of fingerprint reader behind the display also means that the 6T will be slightly thicker. Not much – just 0.45mm extra – some re-arrangements had to made to make everything fit.
