Last week at a specific ‘Product Launch 2018’ event Xiaomi officially unveiled the Redmi Note 5 (Redmi 5 Plus) smartphone in India. The good news is that the TWRP (TeamWin Recovery Project) is now officially available for the device.
You people might be wondering the device is not even up for sale in the country and TWRP- an invaluable tool for anyone looking to mod their device – is already available. The answer to this is – the device which is launched in India is the same Redmi 5 Plus which the company launched back in December in its homeland.
The same developers which released working TWRP images for the Redmi 5 Plus has also published a mostly functional port of LineageOS 14.1 for the Redmi Note 5/5 Plus.

The device came up with a 5.99-inch (2160 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display.
Under the hood, there resides an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor backed by Adreno 506 GPU. The chipset is paired with 3GB/4GB RAM options and 32GB/64GB onboard storage options to choose from.
Android Nougat v7.1.2 comes pre-installed out of the box with MIUI 9.2 on top.
Camera section of this device includes a 12MP rear sensor with dual-tone LED Flash, 1.25μm pixel size and 5MP front-facing sensor with selfie flash. For security company has embedded a fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the device as you can see in the depicted pictures.
To keep the lights of the device on Xiaomi has embedded a hefty 4000mAh of the battery which will give you a full-day juice to go on.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be available for purchase starting February 22 and will be available in different color options including Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue. Xiaomi has also bundled an Ultra Slim-Case along with the device.
