A few days back Essential officially reveals that due to some stability issues they have suspended the Android Oreo v8.0 update and now the device will directly get the version 8.1 with all the issues resolved.

Since then we all were waiting for the Oreo 8.1 beta program and now it’s finally rolling out.

Essential via a tweet on Twitter announced that they have started rolling out the Oreo Beta OTA update for the Essential Phone. And only those who have enrolled in the beta program will receive the update.

The update along with new dynamic calendar and clock App icons does bring the Android Security Patch for the month of February. As per the report from the PhoneArena suggests the update changelog includes changes such as smart text selection, instant apps, picture-in-picture, as well as faster startup and app sign-in.

A new color variant of the Essential PH-1 is also expected to be announced today.
