Subway Surfers – an endless runner mobile game – has now become the first game to hit the 1 Billion download mark on the Play Store. The game was initially released on 24 May 2012 and a couple of days back on March 15, 2018, developers SYBO and Kiloo announced that it’s now world’s biggest game available.
Per Jacob Møller, CEO of Killo says –
We are thrilled to be the biggest game in the world on the Google Play platform. Surpassing 1 billion downloads is a historic accomplishment. In this case, history was written by a talented team of developers and a fantastic collaboration between SYBO and Killo.
Over the past few years, the Subway Surfers has seen tremendous growth. In 2015, the game was downloaded 350 million times at both iOS and Google app stores, 2016 saw another 330 million downloads and 2017 saw a whopping 400 million downloads – making it the biggest mobile game of last year.
According to the co-developers SYBO and Kiloo, the game still has 20 million daily players, and looking at the stats it seems the game is gonna last long.
