HMD Rolls Out The Android Oreo Update For The Nokia 6 (2017)


Earlier this month Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 get the taste of latest Android operating system and now the HMD Global has started seeding the 2017 model of the former unit – Nokia 6 (2017) to be precise.

The Oreo update is hitting the units with model numbers TA-1000 and the Global TA-1003 versions.

The update weighs in at around 1659 MB in size. It brings all the goodies of Oreo including the Picture in Picture mode, auto fill, notification channels, new revamped settings app, new notification center and several others.

Aside from these default Oreo features the update also installs Settings UI, an enhanced power saving and background activity manager. HMD also tuned the low-light camera output.

As usual, the update is rolling over-the-air will take time to reach every unit so be patient. Meanwhile, you can head over to the Setting’s menu of your device to manually check for the update.

Before downloading the update make sure your device is charged up to 80 percent and is connected to a Wi-Fi connection so that you don’t lose any extra mobile data.
