T-Mobile has started pushing out the Android Security Update for the month of November to its Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus flagship smartphones. The update is arriving with BQK5 firmware build and brings the latest security patch and system improvements.
Here is the build number information:
Galaxy S8 – G950USQU2BQK5
Galaxy S8 Plus – G955USQU2BQK5
The firmware is rolling out over the air as we speak, so it may take from a day to a week to reach your unit. Those who are impatient can head over to the Setting’s menu of your device and can manually check for the update.
All the US variants of the device will get this update, after installing the update your device will be compatible with all networks. What this means is you no longer have to flash another carrier’s firmware onto your device to switch carrier.
Now if you want to switch carrier, just insert your new carrier’s SIM and restart the phone to register it on the new network. You people might be thinking what about the pre-installed apps? Well, you don’t have to worry about them too as after rebooting your device all the apps will automatically disabled.
