Dell Officially Unveiled Latitude 5285 2-in-1 Business Laptop

Dell today at CES 2017 unveiled a business laptop dubbed as Dell Latitude 5285 which is quite identical to Microsoft Surface. In resemblance to Surface, this new tablet also support for a stylus and a soft keyboard cover. So if you are looking for a new model of Surface Pro then this new laptop from Dell is something you might wanna consider.

As far as the technical specification goes, it has a 12.3-inch display screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, same as that of surface. Under the hood there's a 1TB SSD which is backed by 16GB of RAM and just like surface it also supports traditional Core i processors from Intel, this time it's seventh generation. 

The Latitude's display comes with one option , 1080p resolution which is low in comparison to the 2736 x 1824 resolution of the Surface Pro 4. But considering the fact that this is designed purely for business purposes, display isn't top priority. 

There are two USB Typce-C ports, one USB 3.0 port, 1 microSD card reader, 1 Micro-SIM slot and a port for the travel keyboard. 

The laptop measures in at 292x208.8x9.76mm and weighs less than 910g in size. Dell also includes LTE and WiGig options, as well as support for fingerprint and security card readers.

Connectivity option includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth v4.1, and the company is offering optional mobile broadband with Qualcomm and Dell modems. Dell is also touting a stereo speaker configuration with Waves MaxxAudio Pro processing.

For security company has embedded an optional FIPS 201 Smartcard reader, touch Fingerprint reader, contactless SC Reader/NFC, Control Vault 2.0 Advanced Authentication with FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Certification, TPM2.0 FIPS 140-2 Certified, TCG Certified, as well as optional DellData Protection and Management Software such as Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise, Threat Defense, Protected Workspace, Secure Lifecycle, MozyPro, and MozyEnterprise.

There are two battery options to choose from a 31.5Whr or 42Whr, alongside the choice of a 45W or 65W adapter

Price & Availability: As far as the pricing is concerned, it is expected to cost around $899 which according to current transaction rates translates into 61325.29 Indian Rupee. The Keyboard will be sold separately, although no pricing details have been disclosed yet. The laptop will be available from February 28.
