Google Chromecast a tiny little device media streaming device turns 3 today. Google marked the occasion on it's official Google Store Plus page with the nifty animation below- but like last year there aren't any promotional deals.

But does this budget friendly device need a deal? It's a already comes in at a affordable price of $35. Three years back when Google first came up with Chromecast it got massive attention thanks to its simple integration with Android smartphones and Chrome browsers. And in just couple of years this tiny device sale across the 10 million mark which was quite impressive.

Earlier this year at Google's keynote developer conference, Google stated that it has sold over 25 million Chromecast units since it's launch.

Last year Google unveiled the 2nd gen Chromecast with a new round disk-like shape, which is the revamped version of the first gen. There are three different color options black, red and yellow. The new Chromecast is faster with improved connectivity, with an upgraded antenna system and a Wi-Fi chip that chooses the best connection. Along with this Google also unveiled plenty of new Cast-capable apps and services to work on any Chromecast.

Happy Birthday Chromecast!!
