New Google Cast App Is Now Available For Download

Earlier this week Google announced that it's rebranding the Chromecast app as Google. You people might be wondering what's the logic behind that, it's just that Chromecast app is now compatible with far more devices than just Chromecast and so the name is set as 'Google Cast'.

For those who are out of loop, Google Cast is a budget friendly device which let you stream 
your favorite entertainment on your HDTV—movies, TV shows, music, and more from Netflix, YouTube, Google Play, and Chrome. 

Now the updated version of the app is available in the form of v1.14 and does boast the Google Cast name and branding. The update bring some nice new features like:

  • the ability to connect to more Cast-enabled devices. 
  • the ability to customize your Backdrop (daydream) functionality

The updated app is now available on the Google Play Store and if you already have the app installed it will be update via OTA in coming few days. However if you would like to test this update app, then you can download the APK through the link below.
