LG G5 Is Now Official: Houses 5.3-Inch Display, Snapdragon 820, Dual Cameras And Modular Add-OnsThe widely teased LG G5 is finally official. Today at MWC 2016, LG officially took wraps off its highly awaited G-series smartphone, the LG G5. It's a drastic departure from previous LG flagships, as the new smartphone launched with a metal-backed design, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a more traditional volume key placement. Along with the device, LG introduces new modular attachments, with the lower portion of the phone being detachable.

Technical Specifications: Firstly lets talk about what the device houses- the G5 packs a 5.3-inch IPS display (smaller than 5.5-inches G4 ) with the same resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. With LG V10 company introduced a new dual-display concept to the market which works independently. LG has used that technology in an "Always On" display, allowing a portion of the device to lit-up to show notification icon and time.

Under the hood, there's a Snapdragon 820 processor- the first such phone to be announced with at MWC - along with 4 gigs of RAM and 32GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 2 terabytes.

Camera section includes an 8-megapixel front facing camera shooter and a dual-camera setup around the back. There's a regular 16-megapixel camera, like its predecessor, along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera (135-degree).

And to keep the smartphone running there's a removable battery of 2800 mAh. But the thing to notice is that now the battery slots in through the bottom of the device. With LG G5, LG introduced a new quick swap battery design which is quite impressive. Through this mechanism, you can add different modules to the device to expand the phone's functionality. These includes an additional 1,200mAh of battery capacity, and an audio attachment tuned and co-developed by Bang & Olufsen, outputting 32-bit sound.

Along with these new modules, LG also introduced the list of accessories which company calls "friends". These can easily be paired with the phone and managed through the preloaded apps. The line of friends includes an LG 360 CAM (a 360-degree remote-controlled camera), LG 360 VR (a virtual reality headset with its own built-in display) and the LG Roller Bot (a small remote-controlled ball shaped robot).
