Sony Xperia Z5 Compact may be a small name but has got enough power to take on flagship devices. In this article, we’ll see how Sony’s not-so-mini Z5 compact stack up against Apple’s iPhone 6s.
Design And Build
Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is the mini version of Z5, so there aren’t many specs difference just that the Z5 mini differ in size. Of course, the build quality is not as premium and the square-looking shape of the handset may not please everybody. When you’ll hold the device, the straight corners of the phone will dig into your palm and that’s a slight nuisance feeling but still it fits snugly in the hand.
You can’t differentiate iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S just by looking them, it’s almost impossible to tell the two apart. iPhone 6s is slightly heavier in weight, and when you pick the device up you can easily tell which one is that, but that’s a different thing.
- Xperia Z5 Compact: 127×65×8.9mm (5.0×2.56×0.35 inches) and 4.87 ounces (138 grams)
- Apple iPhone 6S: 138.3×67.1×7.1mm (5.44×2.64×0.28 inches) and 5.04 ounces (143 grams)
We all know Apple is a company which always put design at the forefront and always try to give their devices premium look. Apple iPhone 6s have soft, rounded corners and a curved glass screen that melds smoothly into the thin metal body of the device.
Sony Xperia Z5 comes with a 4.6-inches display screen which offers 720 x 1280 pixels resolution (323 pixels per inch). Sony has used its Dynamic Contrast Enhancer tech in the display screen of the Z5 compact. What basically this tech does is it makes the bright parts of the screen brighter and the dark parts a true (deeper black).
On the other hand, Apple iPhone 6s powers a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and is equipped with a pressure-sensing 3D Touch. This means that your iPhone will tell you the difference between a tap, a press, and a long press.
Sony’s Xperia Z5 Compact packs a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In comparison, its big brother Z5 holds 3GB of RAM.
Apple uses its own processor that’s why it’s a difficult job to compare it with Sony Xperia Z5. There’s no room for expandable storage as the iPhone 6s comes with 3 storage options: 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
Both the devices are equipped with an impressive camera sensor. The Xperia Z5 Compact features one of Sony’s best smartphone camera’s with plenty of modes and manual settings for photography fanatics.
The rear one is the 23 megapixels Exmor RS sensor which can capture 4K video and is equipped with super-fast autofocus of 0.03 seconds. On the front there is a 5.1 megapixels snapper which is also solid, featuring the same Exmor sensor as the rear.
In comparison to this Apple’s iPhone 6s packs a 12 megapixels camera sensor on the rear and a 5MP snapper on the front. We all know the quality of the image never depends on the count of megixiels, being lower in megapixel count the smartphone still take gorgeous pictures and videos.
Sony Xperia Z5 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system on the board and as per the latest rumors suggest the smartphone will soon be rolling out with the Marshmallow update.
Apple’s iPhone 6s ships with iOS 9, which brings some enhancements which include an improved ‘smarter’ Siri, added iCloud functionality, a revamped app switcher and more. The device is also expected to roll out with an iOS9.1 update.
