Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Samsung Galaxy Note 5, launched few months back with some hefty features, powerful processor and a refined design. 

13th August 2015 is the date when Samsung Electronics officially announced it's new flagship phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Usually Samsung announce it's new device at IFA, but this year company unveil it earlier may be to outrun Apple. 

Note 5 came up with the same display size of 5.7 inch as that of it's predecessor Note 4, the same Octacore Samsung Exynos processor that we have already seen in S6, though this time it's paired with 4GB of RAM.

Galaxy Note 5 packs a 3,000 mAh non removable battery which is actually smaller than the one we have seen in Note 4. Talking about camera, on the back of the device there's a 16MP sensor with optical image stabilisation, f/1.9, phase detection auto focus 4K video, slow motion video option and on the front there's a 5-MP camera sensor. Moreover Note 5 supports for both quick charging and wireless charging.

Microsoft Lumia 950XL



Microsoft, at it's Lumia event Microsoft unveiled a new Lumia 950XL Windows 10 smartphone and with the device PureView camera reborn on the big screen.

If you people remember, 2 years back Nokia introduced a 6-inch giant Lumia 1520 Windows Phone and it was the largest Windows Phone around at that time. Although, Microsoft's new Lumia device isn't a giant phone but it does come with huge 5.7-inch display screen.

Microsoft Lumia 950XL comes with a 5.7-inch QHD screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, and for protection there is Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It's an AMOLED unit with Glance screen. Under the hood there's a Snapdragon 810 chipset – Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57, Adreno 430 to bear the load of QHD graphics and 3GB of RAM. And to keep the device running cool, Microsoft introduces a liquid cooling solution.

Camera section includes: a 20MP PureView sensor (1/2.4") with 5th gen optical stabilisation and Carl Zeiss optics (f/1.9). It can record 2160p video natively with Lumia's traditional Hi-Fi audio recording. There's a 5MP/1080p selfie camera too, accompanied by its own LED flash.

Along with that the Lumia 950XL is also equipped with USB Type- C connector and a 3,340mAh of battery. Quick Charging: 50% battery charge takes just 30 minutes.

This year with the launch of windows 10 on the desktop systems, Microsoft also unveiled couple of Lumia devices with Windows 10 on board. Even with the arrival of Windows 10 on smartphones, we're not exactly blown away. The true Windows Phone users might appreciate its features, but the OS is buggy. The Lumia 950 itself offers decent hardware, and an uninspiring design. If you switch OS, you'll see a lot better on the market and that too for less money.
