Windows 10 is with us for a long time now and it’s a big hit with many users, but this isn’t the case with everyone, as not all PC users are happy with the upgrade. The depreciation of Windows Media Center began way back in 2009, and now Microsoft has also officially killed it’s Media Center. But don’t worry there’s still an alternative if any other method don’t seem to fill the void.
Users over at MDL forums have managed to create an all-in-one package, with the help of which you will be able to reinstall Windows Media Center on Windows 10. This project had been in words for few weeks now and the site Windows Blog Italia wrote up on how easy it is to accomplish and indeed with the help of them we were successfully able to install it on our PC with ease.
Note: Before proceeding, we should caution you that you are about to download files from an unofficial source. So we recommend you to back up your PC, although there are no known bugs and side effects.
Install Windows Media Center on Windows 10
Step-1: Download and extract WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0.zip from below link:
WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER_zip
Step-2: Right-click on _TestRights.cmd
and click Run as administrator
Step-3: Reboot your PC
Step-4: Run it again, this time right-click on Installer.cm and click Run as administrator
Step-5: After the installer runs, click any key to exit.
Now you are done with the installation, doing a simple search for Media Center reveals that the app is installed on your PC. For quick access you can pic it to the taskbar.
