Samsung Galaxy Round VS LG G Flex

Samsung Galaxy Round and LG G Flex both are curved smartphones, galaxy round is curved along vertical axis and other is along horizontal. Most of the smartphone companies are competing for fastest processor or for the sharpest display. If we see LG and Samsung both are duking out for dominance in a relatively new territory.

Samsung reveals its first curved smartphone last month and after a month LG has also announced their first curved smartphone which is dubbed as LG G Flex. Both the curved handsets sports displays with flexible properties that allow for a rounded design, but that doesn’t mean they’re all that similar.

Key features stack up:

Samsung Galaxy Round                     LG G Flex

CPU:                  2.3GHz quad-core processor                 2.26GHz quad-core processor
PLATFORM:                      Android 4.3                                                  Android 4.2.2
RAM:                                       3GB                                                                 2GB                                 DISPLAY:                  a 5.7-inch, 1080p screen                              6-inch HD (1280 x 720)

Here's full stack up between both the curved smartphones:

Design: Both the smartphone powers a curved screen, but are rounded in different axes (vertically or horizontally). Samsung Galaxy Round has a 5.7-inch, 1080p screen with an HD Super AMOLED display and is bended horizontally, due to its curved design users can take advantage of round integration experiences like the Roll Effect that enables user to check information. The Galaxy Round features the plastic-crafted design similar to one seen in Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3(boxy corners and rectangular design).

If we talk about LG G Flex, it is curved vertically from the top to the bottom. It powers a 6-inch HD (1280 x 720) display. The vertically curved design of the LG G Flex reduces the distance between one’s mouth to the microphone when the device is held against the ear, as traditional telephone handsets used to. It seems that LG has used the same design cues that we have seen in LG G2.

LG G Flex measures 6.32 x 3.21 x 0.32-0.34 inches i.e it is slightly longer, wider and thicker than the 5.95 x 3.13 x 0.31-inch Samsung Galaxy Round. G Flex weighs 177g where as Samsung Galaxy round weighs 154g.

Specs: When we talk about specs, both the Galaxy Round and G Flex packs strong specs. Both the smartphones have a 13-MP rear camera shooter and a similar front-facing camera shooter. They are powered by a roaring Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on an Android platform, Galaxy Round runs on an Android 4.3 OS and G Flex runs an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.

In comparison to LG's 2GB RAM Samsung is offering 3GB of RAM in their alleged Galaxy Round smartphone. However, LG’s offering comes with a larger 3,500 mAh battery as compared to the Galaxy Round’s 2,800 mAh battery.

Price:According to the latest reports, both the handsets are set to debut in Korea. Its said that Galaxy Round will cost $1,013 in U.S. currency (1.09 million won) in Korea. No price details available this time for LG G Flex. Both the devices will be available in Korea starting in November. And its Global launch will be thereafter, said company.
