Review: Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q

One of the smartest and most popular Tablet PCs that Samsung has launched recently in the Indian market is the Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q. The Galaxy series of smart phones are considered to be one of the most innovative smart phones and tablet PCs. However, the Samsung ATIV Q consists of some exquisite and unique features.

Design Concept

The Samsung ATIV Q has been designed in the form of a sliding tablet as is evident from the designing of its body. The concept of the design has been mainly to provide its users with the maximum advantages and meet the individual demands of the users. An outside keyboard can be attached to the tablet which can also be hidden simply by sliding it. With a thickness of 13.9 mm it weighs around 1.3 Kg., which makes it inconvenient to carry it around. However, it can easily be used as a smart phone with the latest features integrated into this awesome gadget that is enough to entice the enthusiastic purchaser. It would be pertinent to mention that the Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q is by far the only device to incorporate almost all the state of the art technology features.

Powerful Processor and Memory

The Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q is powered by a powerful Intel Core i5 Haswell processor and has an internal memory of 4 GB DDR3L RAM. The processor enables the device for effortless and smooth computing. The device also has more than sufficient memory capacity of 128 GB that allows the user to store his important data and information on the hard disk that can be easily retrieved at any time during the operation of the gadget.

Operating System
As has been the case in other Ativ series of devices, the user has the option of selecting the platform that he needs for the Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q since the gadget operates both on the
Android 4.2.2 version of the Jelly Bean operating system as well as the Windows 8.0 Phone operating system which is the latest version available from MicroSoft. However, in the Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q tablet the user can reboot and switch over to any of the operating systems and transfer of files along with the applications alternatively to the two operating systems.

Screen Display Features

The Tablet PC comes to the user with a 13.3 inches display screen with a high resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels which is responsible for the immense picture clarity that is rarely possible for a gigantic display screen. The HD 4400 Graphics Processing Unit provides a wonderful graphics output to the screen. This Graphics Processing Unit increases the lucidity of the display screen where the user can view sharp and clear images.

The Samsung Galaxy Activ Q Tablet PC comes to the user with a single 1.0 Mega Pixels primary camera which has a high resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which allow the user to take sharp and clear photographs. This single 1.0 MP primary camera can be used as a web cam in the device. The device is equipped with a proper QWERTY keyboard that facilitates ease in typing data into the device.

On the connectivity front, the device has the least connectivity features such as a USB 2.0 port and a HDMI port for connecting the device to the television set. There is no Wi-Fi and Blue Tooth connection which is a major drawback. The 3 G connection can only be set up through a dongle which comes at an extra cost. One of the other setbacks for this device is that it does not support dual SIM technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Ativ Q depends on its power through a 5000 mAh battery which is a non removable Li-Ion battery which offers a talk time of up to 20 hours for 2 G connections and 10 hours for 3 G connections. The standby time is limited to 520 hours.
